Solderable fully insulated (FIW) zero-defect enamelled round copper wire, class 180, with a single coating based on polyurethane resin, which may be modified providing it retains its chemical identity and satisfies all the required technical specifications.

FIW is defined with many Grades specifying different insulation thicknesses. Reduction in the number of grades of FIW from 3 through 9 to 4, 6 and 8 only; – reduction of the wire diameter range from (0,040 to 1,000) mm to (0,090 to 0,900) mm for several requirements

FIW is produced in a multiple coating process, which guarantees insulation without any defects.

FIW enameled wires are a group of fully insulated wires with high puncture resistance. It belongs to the group of materials with reinforced insulation. Undoubtedly, the advantage of this insulation is its high puncture resistance. The declared value of the electric strength depends on the thickness of the insulation.

Features
  1. Solderable:This indicates that the wire is designed to be easily soldered.
  2. Fully Insulated (FIW):The wire has a complete insulation covering, providing protection against electrical contact and environmental factors.
  3. Zero-Defect:The term “zero-defect” emphasizes that the wire should be free from any defects.
  4. Polyurethane Enamelled:The wire’s insulation is made of polyurethane enamel. Polyurethane is a type of polymer known for its flexibility, durability, and good electrical properties.
  5. Round Copper Wire:The core conductor is made of copper, and the wire is in a round shape.
  6. Class 180:This indicates the thermal class of the wire, specifying its ability to withstand elevated temperatures. In this case, Class 180 suggests that the wire is designed to operate in environments with temperatures up to 180°C.
